7/20/11 Update

As of today some of the updates we have been working on include:

  • Made the “The Backlog” at the top of the main pages a link back to the Index.
  • Made the main blog page more friendly. (Removed clutter, and unneeded plugins)
  • Updated the WordPress Version to the newest.

In development:

  • Linking the title of the Blog back to our Index.
  • Taking the blog off of wordpress onto a custom format

Updates:

Yesterday we posted about a database system, in-so-far I have done some preliminary research and have a proto-type in the works. Hopefully we can see that come to fruition in time.

As always, feel free to leave feedback, or suggestions in the comment.

Development Ideas in Progress

The Backlog is currently working on several new ways to best bring you all the best video game news. We have, in development:

  • A database system, to archive articles as reference points, which will allow tagging of articles and access to articles beyond the scope of the current ones being displayed.
  • A search feature, which will allow quick access to your favorite video game articles, and a tag cloud search.
  • A customization option, which will allow users to bookmark their favorite their video game news feeds, sites, and articles; and allow them to change the way they view The Backlog however they see fit.

Please feel free to leave feedback and suggestions about these ideas, as well as any others you might have. Thank you!

Introduction.

Welcome to the development blog for thebacklog.net! As gamers, it is our goal to provide all the newest video game news from all around the internet. We want our website to be a one-stop shop for gamers to visit, to get all of the video game news they need. This includes news about the Xbox 360, the Ps3, and Wii; as well as news about PC gaming and handhelds, including the Nintendo DS, Psp, and even iPhones. We want to make sure we have the widest and most diverse video game news available. We also desire for the website to be as easy to use as possible, and to conform to what you, the viewers, want. The Backlog wants nothing but to please you, and provide the best video game news around. This development blog will be where we update you with information about the site and our ideas for improvement. We will also address your feedback and take suggestions (in the form of comments) here. Thank you for your support!
